Mumpe Alex Ndawula's Testimony

" My name is Mumpe Alex Ndawula. I lost my parents when I was 8 years and I started to stay with my uncle. Unfortunately his wife mistreated me and I was forced onto the streets of Kampala.

After some years a kind Christian woman called Jane took me from the streets and gave me somewhere to live. I started helping her with domestic work and she enabled me to go back to school. I wasn’t able to go to college but, in 2016, found children living on the streets needing a home. Having come from this background my heart went out to them, Jane kindly allowed me to look after 9 girls and boys in her house.

By 2018 I was looking after 23 children and needed somewhere else to go. It was at that point that we were able to move to our current location, near Wobulenzi, Luwero District, Central Uganda. We now have 52 girls and boys living with us, and a further 500 vulnerable children from the local community who attend Kampala Christian Academy which is on the same site. Over time we have been able to build, so our site now includes a domitory block also with a classrooms that are not yet roofed. Looking forward for generous people to sow a seed in this fundamental life changing cause . This building costs of 4 huge classrooms . A Hall for prayers and interactions of the students like debate , offices for headteacher and the director, staff room , computer laboratory, medical room once finished. "

Drew and Christy Wight's Testimony

I wholeheartedly recommend Kampala Christian Academy and Orphanage, a ministry doing incredible work in the heart of Kampala, Uganda. At the center of this ministry is Mumpe Alex, a man whose testimony is nothing short of inspiring. His deep love for the children in his care is evident in everything he does—driven by his own journey and his commitment to sharing the love of Jesus Christ.

I have personally witnessed the compassion and dedication Mumpe Alex brings to his community. He goes above and beyond to meet tangible needs like food, clean water, and medicine—essentials that bring immediate relief and dignity to children who have often known only hardship. But it doesn’t stop there. The ministry is also committed to education through Kampala Christian Academy, providing children with the skills and knowledge they’ll need to thrive in the future.

Most importantly, what sets this ministry apart is its unwavering focus on Christ. Every child is seen, known, and loved. The joy and hope that come from celebrating Jesus and his purposes are evident in the lives being changed daily.

If you are looking to support a place where lives are being transformed—physically, mentally, and spiritually—then look no further than what is happening at Kampala Christian Academy and Orphanage. This is a place where love is not just spoken, but lived out in action.

Christine Lazenby Alexakis's Testimony

" I started following Alex when the orphanage was just coming together, on social media. I have a big heart for children and orphans, and the homeless. A short time passed, and a friend of mine shared with me that she was going to Africa, to an orphanage - she felt God was calling her to. I had no idea she was also following Kampala Christian Orphanage. I met her at the airport and sent over some funds to be used at the orphanage as a birthday blessing.

When my friend returned she handed me a precious gift: an 8x5 painting of Africa with the word FAITH written across it. Over the years I have received endless messages from Alex, updating me on the needs and care of the orphanage. I am so thankful that God placed KCO and this brother in my life.

He has a heart of Jesus and his mission for educating, spiritual guidance and development to give the children a bigger brighter future is so easy to see. I’ve partnered on fixing the well, a wood burning kitchen stove, and most recently the completion of part of the school buildings roof project-to get the children out of the rain and inside to be able to study and learn…preparing for their futures.

They are all so thankful- I even received a video of the children thanking me…brought me to tears of joy. Some day I dream of visiting the orphanage and seeing the completion of the school building and the children and happy faces ! I am so blessed to be a part of Kampala Christian Orphanage. I am currently working on pages to help with funding for the school and the needs of the children, to help the school with funds and donations-which this school completely relies on for food, clothing, study materials, and medical care. The generosity of donors is appreciated beyond measure, and Alex and the kids lives are forever changed with each and every person that helps."
